GPNZ calling for Volunteers for the Canterbury Emergency Relief Pool
Following the Christchurch earthquake, the New Zealand Rural General Practice Network has been asked by GPNZ to send out a call for assistance to our members.
GPNZ has been asked by the Ministry of Health, in consultation with Pegasus Health, to establish the national emergency relief pool for general practice and community pharmacy in Canterbury.
GPNZ has been advised that the Pegasus 24 Hour Surgery was open and operational last night, and that there was sufficient primary care resource available for the first 24 hours. The situation will be reviewed this morning and GPNZ will be advised of requirements at that time. GPNZ is now calling for general practitioners, practice nurses, practice managers, community pharmacists and pharmacy technicians who are available to assist in Christchurch at short notice.
If you are available, or aware of others who may be available to help, please complete the registration form in PDF or Word format and email to Sheryl Crase, GPNZ.
We appreciate your support.
